Superintendent of Schools Eu"gene M. Crouch, who last week
completed a school census of the
corporate city.
The figures, which are for persons between the ages of six and
21, show that there are 1,382
white children of school age in
Kingsport and sl colored.
Girls outnumber boys among
the white children by 14, there
bein. 684 males and 698 feg
males. There are 42 of each
among the colored children.
The total number of white
children between the ages bf six
and eight years is 216; between
the ages of eight and 14 years,
632; between 14 and 16 years,
