Photographs of Lee's Tamales kitchen. Flem Hollins was born 1875 in Southwest Virginia. He is credited with being the originator of the recipe for the tamales that would eventually become the foundation of Lee’s Tamale shop. In the city of Bristol, his daughter, Ms. Lottie V. Hollins would marry Mr. Ballard Pierson Lee Sr. Mr. Lee was born in 1898 in Wyndale, Washington County, Virginia. The couple would work at and develop a well-known staple in the Bristol community for decades, Lee’s Tamales.
